You love to eat yam but want to try something different? Then this recipe is just for you.
Yam Shepherds PIE
What you need to prepare the perfect Yam Shepherds Pie:
- Brown sugar
- Olive Oil
- Minced Meat
- Black Pepper
- Red Bell Pepper
- Sweet Corn
- Soy sauce
Coarsely chop the yam and place in a pot with salt and brown sugar. Simmer until the yams are soft and cooked through. Next, finely chop onions and sauté. Add ground meat and season with oregano, black pepper and salt. Then add red bell pepper and garlic to the pan as well. Turn in between every now and then.
Add diced carrots, peas, corn and peppers and finish with a dash of soy sauce.
Sauté nicely and keep turning.
Then put it into baking dish and mash the cooked yam roots until soft. Add butter, a little black pepper, nutmeg and cream and mix and mash again.
Add tumeric and again mash and mix until it makes a nice yellow measure.
Portion by portion, pour the measure into a squeeze bag and, using circular motions, cover the contents of the pan in the baking dish and bake in the oven.
